If you have unread messages in your LinkedIn inbox you get a nice preview on the home page. But no matter how many unread messages you have, you get 5 no matter what with no indication of what’s new or not. This forces you to mentally parse the list every time. Show me 5, I don’t care, just make the old ones not-bold. Bold=unread. Make use of existing conventions!
